Louise Ellen Jensen Severson, 86, of Orem Utah, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2013 in Provo, surrounded by her entire family. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, on July 25 ^, 1927 to Ellen M Thomson, and was later sealed to Heber William Thurgood.

She was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed a family gathering whenever possible. She served many years in the Stake Primary Presidency and as a teacher of young children for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She took pride in her 13 year secretarial service for the US Government. She was blessed with and continued to bless others with her vibrant singing voice. She adored and appreciated her friends, neighbors and ward members who always cared for her and treated her like family.

She is survived by her husband, Dee Severson whom she was sealed to on October 10, 1947 in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple. She is survived by her three children: Greg (Ilona) Severson, Janet (Michael) Bledsoe, and Janeen (Scott) Diamond; her eight grandchildren: Melanie (David) Platte, Dirk (Amber) Rider, Tia (Jake) Sorensen, Cameron (Stacey) Bledsoe, Melinda Bledsoe, Melissa Bledsoe, Gabby Golightly, and Preston Bledsoe, as well as two great-grandchildren: Cole and Ella Platte, and her honorary son, Barney Severson (the dachshund).

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Canyon View Stake Center, 575 E. 800 N. in Orem where friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Orem Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the missionary fund for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
