Louise Larson Miller, 102, of Venice, Utah, passed away April 25, 2015, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was born July 9, 1912, in Mayfield, Utah to Louis D. Larson and Amelia Christiansen. She married Peter LaRue Miller, November 13, 1942, in the Manti Temple. He preceded her in death September 3, 2007.
Louise graduated from Snow College in 1932 with honors and earned her teaching degree from Brigham Young University. She loved teaching elementary and junior high and was much loved by her students. Music was important to Louise. She taught piano for many years as well as accompanied and performed. She spent countless hours sharing her musical talents in her church and community.
Louise was an active member of the LDS Church. She served as Relief Society president for five years, stake Relief Society organist for 15 years, and in many other ward and stake callings. Louise served a full-time mission with her husband, LaRue, in the Jackson-Mississippi Mission from 1979-1981. She loved life and serving others. She was always grateful and happy right up to the day she passed on.
Louise is survived by her children: Margaret Ann (Kent) Butikofer, Teton, ID; Dr. Kent L. (Joyce) Miller, Oak Hill, VA; Camille (Kent) Homer, Sandy; Carolyn (Douglas) Tebbs, Salt Lake City; and Pauline (Larry) Kacher, Midway; 27 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Jennifer Tebbs, Jed Butikofer, and Nicole Homer; seven brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2015, at 12:00 Noon in the Venice LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield Friday from 6-8 p.m. and at the ward chapel in Venice on Saturday from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
