Loretta P. Willardson
Redmond, Utah
Loretta Peterson Willardson, 85, passed away April 19, 2018 in Centerfield. She was born August 29, 1932 in Roosevelt to Earl H. and Aleen Larsen Peterson. She married N. Paul Willardson, June 30, 1949 in Axtell. He preceded her in death August 30, 2001.
She was a wonderful gardener and a great cook, she loved having the family over for dinner and other family functions. She was competitive in playing ball with the kids and grandkids...she had a wicked pitch and a mean left hand. She enjoyed going on rides, going up to the cabin up at Accords. She crocheted, quilted and loved to travel to visit with friends and family. She won a cash award of $100 in 1948 for thinning the most beets in Sanpete County.
She worked many years as a school lunch lady, was an inspector at the sewing plant, cooked at the Branding Iron Café and then at the Salina Senior Citizen’s until she retired.
She was a member of the LDS Church where she worked in the Young Women’s organization, was a visiting teacher and worked in Compassionate Service for many years.
Loretta is survived by children: Michael (Julie) Willardson, Wellsville; Debra Willardson, and Burke (Jolene) Willardson, Redmond; Lloyd (Laura) Willardson, Midvale; 11 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Maxine.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; brothers: Roger (LaVona) Peterson, Paules Peterson; sisters, Stella (Elwood) Larsen, Beulah (Garth) Tolboe, Lila (Moyle Lee) Peterson; great-grandchildren: Roxanne Willardson, Hunter Willardson.
The family extends their appreciation to Dr. Dwight Inouye and P.A. Wade Anderson, their staff, the staff and management of Mission At Community Living in Centerfield, and the staff of Zion’s Way Hospice for the many hours of love and care given to mom during her last illness.
