Lola Mickelson

October 24, 1925 — June 22, 2012

Survived by her eternal sweetheart Garth, Lola Bertha Anderson Mickelson, 86, of Richfield, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away June 22, 2012, in Provo.  She was born October 24, 1925, in Ephraim, to Harry Young and Mary Ava Renburg Anderson.  She married Garth Rulon Mickelson, November 25, 1946, in the Manti LDS Temple.
Lola did her part serving her country during WWII at the parachute plant in Manti, becoming one of those known as a “Parachute Babe” in the war effort.  She was introduced by a mutual friend, to a sailor who was home on leave from the Navy; they went on a date and have continued dating for over 65 years. They enjoyed going in their trailer and spending time with their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   Lola was known for her many talents including: gardening, crocheting, and making something beautiful out of very little.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lola lived her testimony of the gospel through service to others. She served in various church callings including Primary President.  Her most important calling, which she loved, was that of wife, mother, and grandmother.  She fulfilled this calling to perfection.
She is survived by her husband, Garth, Richfield; children, Steven G. (Kathy) Mickelson, Richfield; Mitzi (Steven) Snow, Richfield; Stephanie (Richard) Kitchen, Roswell, NM; and Gregory R. (Francie) Mickelson, Richfield; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Leland J. Anderson, Salt Lake City; sister, Mary ElLene (Hank) Vanderhave, Salt Lake City; brothers-in-law: Merrill C. (Charlene) and Elliot S. (Zola) Mickelson; sister-in-law, Arlene (Lloyd) Smith.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elmo (LaNae) Anderson, Leo (Arlene) Anderson; and Garth’s parents, Rulon and Jessie Mickelson.
Lola's family wishes to thank those responsible for the wonderful care given to her by Sevier County Ambulance and EMT's, Sevier Valley Medical Center and UVRMC.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June, 27, 2012, at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield 15th LDS Ward Chapel, 10 S 200 E, Richfield.  Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary, 50 S 100 W in Richfield, on Tuesday evening from 6 to 7 p.m. and at the ward chapel, in Richfield Wednesday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
