Lola Dawn Smoot Gottfredson, 83, passed away in Cedar City, Utah, December 3, 2017, after a long illness. She was born September 25, 1934 in Richfield, Utah, to Haws and Ione Gleave Smoot. She married Brent Gottfredson, April 14, 1954, in Kelso, Washington. He preceded her in death May 22, 2014.

Lola was raised at the creamery in Antimony, Utah, until age seven when her family moved to Marysvale, Utah. She graduated from Marysvale High School in 1952. She lived in Salt Lake City and worked for the Utah State Drivers License Division at the state capitol. She met her beloved husband at the Purple Haze, in Kingston Utah, where it was love at first sight.

Mom and Dad were in the military where they traveled to many places: Panama, Pennsylvania and Texas, returning to Marysvale in 1970 after Dad retired from the Army.

Lola was a homemaker, and was devoted to her family and had many friends. She loved her home and yard and kept it beautiful. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and was so excited to go through the temple to receive her endowment.
