Lois Griffin Reeves, 80, passed away peacefully at her home is Escalante on Monday, April 16, 2018. She was born October 5, 1937 in Escalante to Lorenzo and Ruth Bushman Griffin in the family home, just a hundred feet away from where she later resided.

She married Evan F. Reeves on June 23, 1956, and they welcomed their twin girls Jaleen and Jalyn the following year. The family moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where Lois taught elementary school, a job she loved. Later the family lived in Laie, Hawaii and then returned to Orem, Utah where the family welcomed their youngest daughter Jamie. Lois had a passion for reading and education which she passed to her children. She served her community in a local library program where she helped underprivileged adults learn to read. She is remembered for her love of gardening and she treasured her indoor plants, outdoor rose bushes and vegetable garden. Lois enjoyed being outdoors with her family whether it was going for a walk, a day of fishing or sitting and chatting on the porch. Lois was an accomplished piano player and she loved to sing, especially church hymns. She　was a dedicated member of The　Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed her ward in Escalante.

She is survived by her husband, Evan, Escalante; daughters: Jaleen (Joe) Foloamahina, Orem; Jalyn Reeves, Escalante; Jamie (Troy) Reeves, Salt Lake City; 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brother, Gerald (Barbara) Griffin, Salt Lake City. She is preceded in death by her parents Lorenzo and Ruth; brothers, Lewis and Harold Griffin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 12:00 Noon in the Escalante 1st LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the ward chapel in Escalante on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30.
