Lois met her eternal sweetheart, Leland Olsen, in high school seminary class. In school, Lois debated, danced, acted in school plays, played catcher on the softball team, and served as senior class president. She was valedictorian of her graduating class.

After graduating from South Sevier High School, Lois attended Snow College on scholarship.

Leland and Lois were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 30, 1941. Two daughters blessed their lives: Saundra Lee, and Connie.

To supplement their income, Lois began teaching school in 1948. She continued teaching for 38 years. She was given the prestigious Teacher of the Year Award by Sevier School District. Lois was also voted Woman of the Year by Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

From 1988 to 1989 Lois and Leland served an LDS mission to the Sydney, Australia temple. They were also faithful temple workers at the Manti Temple for 18 years.

Lois enjoyed sewing, embroidery work, oil painting, ceramics, quilting, and writing poetry. If someone said it couldn’t be done, Lois time and again proved that it could!
