Lois Aleen Larsen

Lois Aleen Larsen, 79, passed away on June 1, 2012. Lois was born to Clara Reynolds and Lester A. Larsen on January 22, 1933. She was the eldest of four children.
Lois graduated from Manti High School, Snow College and Brigham Young University with a BS degree in Elementary Education. She taught the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grades at various times in the Manti, Nephi, and Riverdale school systems. When she retired, she moved to her family home in Manti to care for her mother, Clara.
Lois also spent a lifetime teaching Junior Sunday School and Primary classes. She truly loved children and they loved her.Although she never married nor had children of her own, she sought every opportunity to reach out to each child, individually and collectively. Many of her former grade school and Primary students have kept in touch with her throughout the years. She made a difference in young lives and they remember.
She is survived by her sister, Virginia (H. Aldridge) Gillespie; brother, Douglas (Lynne) Larsen; and sister, Lynd (Bruce) Draper; along with many nieces and nephews, to whom she was a second mother. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will take place Friday June 8, 2012, at 12:00 Noon Manti 8th Ward, 295 South Main Street, where friends may call from 10:00–11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Manti City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
