Lois Beutler

October 8, 1928 — June 27, 2012

Lois Nelson Beutler, 83, passed away June 27, 2012 at her home in Richfield, doing what she loved best—gardening. She was born October 8, 1928 in Salt Lake City to Melroy Andrew “Grandpa Bucket” and Jane Ramsey Nelson. She married Edgar Wesley Jones, later divorced. She found the love of her life at BoweryHaven Resort waiting on a fisherman, Leo Donald Beutler. They were married May 18, 1962 Ely, Nevada. Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple August 1979. He preceded her in death, July 16, 1980.
Grandma B was a little social butterfly and had a love for waitressing at many different places. Grams found her place in life as she went hunting, fishing, camping, golfing and bowling with her family. She took care of her parents as they aged.
She loved her grandkids and great-grandkids. Bubble gum and popsicles, pickles from the garden, and homemade bread were among the favorites at Gram’s house.
Grandma was well known for her yard. She had a green thumb that most will agree is hard to come by. Her passion over the years was her garden and flowers. She developed quite the fan club not only with local residents, but tourists who would stop and take pictures and compliment her on her weed-free yard.
She is survived by her children: Janeen Dunn, Richfield; Kent (Jane) Jones, Draper; Jill (Joe) Blackham, Richfield; Jackie (Wayne) White, Richfield; Gary (Carolyn) Beutler, Orem; Jim (Maureen) Beutler, Beaver; sister, Rosalie Jackman, Salt Lake City; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Stanley, Terry and Don Jr.; grandson, Jory Ballard; brother, Robert “Bob” Nelson.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 2, 2012 at 12 Noon in the Richfield 5th Ward Chapel, 800 North 500 West.
