Leslie Von "Bonnie" LeFevre Willis, 86, passed away February 22, 2017 in St. George. Bonnie was born October 23, 1930 in Tropic to Leslie and Flora Johnson LeFevre. She married ElRoy Patterson Willis May 21, 1948 in the St. George Temple. He preceded her in death December 8, 1986.
Bonnie and Roy built a home in Tropic, lived for a time in Henderson, NV, moved to Bryce Canyon for Roy’s work, and built a home in Cannonville. She enjoyed working with Roy on their homes, at the field, in the garden, camping, and fishing. Trips to Barker were always memorable.
Roy and Bonnie loved to dance. She made Roy’s shirts and her skirts and dresses to match each other for their square dances. She was a beautiful quilter and seamstress. She loved to crochet. She designed and crocheted Barbie doll clothes for the grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and baker. Her homemade noodles, pizza, filled cookies and fruitcakes are some of the favorites. Her pantry was full of all kinds of bottled fruits, meats and vegetables. Her cookie jar was close to the door so a visitor could get cookies on the way in and out.
She was a member of the Bryce Lions Club and donated many hours of service by herself and with Roy. She enjoyed putting together a history of the Bryce Lions Club and helping with the Easter egg hunt.
Bonnie was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Many hours were spent at her kitchen table working on lessons or sharing times. She enjoyed serving a mission in Tallahassee, Florida and doing temple work. She loved going to the temple with family and friends.
Bonnie is survived by her sons: Cornell (Kathryn) Willis, Quinn (Georgia) Willis, Steve (Louise) Willis, KayMar (Mary) Willis; 23 grandchildren, 68 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sister: LaMar (Ethel) LeFevre, Dale (Olene) LeFevre, Reed (Mary) LeFevre, Velma (Kyle) Ransom; sisters-in-law: Helen Willis and Lyllian LeFevre.
She is also preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; brothers; Ellis (Janet) LeFevre, John (Genevieve) LeFevre, Russell LeFevre.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 12:00 Noon at the Cannonville LDS Ward Chapel where friends may call from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Henrieville Cemetery.
