Leah Johnson

Richfield, Utah

Leah Olson Johnson, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away peacefully on October 28, 2014 in Richfield, Utah at the age of 91. She was born on October 17, 1923 in Spanish Fork, Utah to Orissa Hansen and Ole Olson. She was the third of five children.

On February 7 th of 1945 she married her lifelong sweetheart James Derald Johnson in Florence, Arizona. Shortly after their marriage they moved to Richfield, Utah and never left the valley they loved so much.

Leah was known as a hard worker and a friend to all she met. She worked several different jobs in the area until she obtained her license as a hairdresser. She had her own salon for many years and enjoyed the company of her patrons as much as the work itself. Leah enjoyed her family and the time they spent together. Babies and children gave her the greatest joy in life. Their laughter made her laugh. Their singing lifted her spirit. She is survived by her son, Derald (Judy) Johnson, Fort Collins, CO. Leah was blessed with 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Derald Johnson, her son and daughter-in-law, Everett & Bea Johnson and a grandson, Brian Johnson.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield LDS 5th ward chapel, 801 North 500 East, where friends may call from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield Cemetery.
