Lawrence William Prisby, 88, passedaway January 18, 2013 in Richfield. He was born December 2, 1924 in Joseph to Brice William and Martha Emelia Ronnow Prisby.
Lawrence grew up in Joseph, graduating from South Sevier High School in Monroe. After graduating he joined the US Navy and served overseas in World War Two until the war had ended. After returning home, he worked for US Mining Company in Lark, Utah, until he retired. After retirement, his hobbies were working in his mine, and with his many mining claims. He loved the outdoors, hunting and especially going to the Saturday night dances. The employees at the Richfield Care Center described Lawrence as always being extremely courteous and friendly and a pleasure to help, with a sense of humor all enjoyed.
He is survived by his daughter, Stacey; siblings Marie Hunter, Cleone Rogacki, Pearl Prisby and Ronnow Prisby.
Preceded in death by parents; and sisters, Ann and Karma.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. in the Joseph Cemetery with military rites by the Elsinore American Legion Post #75 and Utah Honor Guard. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti
