Lawrence Richard Peterson, 94, long-time resident of Las Vegas, passed away in Yarington, Nevada on May 9, 2013. Dick was born August 7, 1918 in Ephraim to Lawrence Ray and Nancy Ann Lamb Peterson. Upon his father's death, Dick moved with his family to Provo, where he attended Brigham Young University and threw javelin on the track team. During World War II, Dick joined the Air Force, flying B-25's over the Pacific and training new pilots.
Her married Rhoda King in 1942 and had four children. Dick participated in various colorful flying activities throughoout the southwest. He was the pilot for Judson Pacific Murphy Steel Corporation when they built the Glen Canyon Dam in Arizona.
Dick is survived by children: Lawrence Richard "Larry" (Janet), Mark King (Linda), Susan (Brian) Gong, Gloria (Gary) Bastian, and Michael Campbell; 13 grandchildren; brothers: Robert (Roberta), and Don; sister, Mary (Glen) Teeples
Graveside services will be held Friday, May17, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. in the Ephraim Park Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti
