Lawrence Frandsen

Panguitch, Utah

Lawrence Wayne Frandsen, 87, of Panguitch, passed peacefully into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father and eternal sweetheart, Margaret, surrounded by his loving family, January 14, 2014 in Panguitch. He was born August 18, 1926 in Widstoe to George Randolph and Ida Floy Anderson Frandsen. He married Margaret Sevy June 11, 1947 in Fredonia, AZ. The marriage was later solemnized in the St. George Temple. She preceded him in death September 22, 2009.

Dad’s greatest blessing was his family. He spent most of his life following and supporting his family in all their endeavors. Dad and Mom loved to watch their children and grandchildren participate in sports and made each one feel that they were their #1 fan. Dad loved the deer hunt and the family association that it brought. He had a great love for his country and served in the military during World War II. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served faithfully on the Church farm, in the Elder’s Quorum, and later he and Mom served together in the library. Dad took great pride in owning and operating his own businesses, whether it be trucking, delivering coal, logging, or operating the sawmill. His example of hard work and integrity will forever serve his family.

He is survived by his children: Lloyd (Suzanne) Frandsen, Taylorsville; Elden (Pam) Frandsen, Panguitch; Deanna (Stephen) Hatch, Scipio; Debora (Allan) Orton, Price; Kevin (Debbie) Frandsen, Panguitch; and Rodney (Robyn) Frandsen, Parowan; Kami (Brian) Groves, West Jordan; 26 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren with two more expected in March, sister-in-law, Betty Frandsen, Panguitch.

He is also preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Heidi Hatch; siblings: Randolph (Ky), Gene, Virginia, George, Larry, Ruby, Pearl, Joan, Keith and Lloyd.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Panguitch 2nd Ward, 200 North 400 East, where friends may call from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery with military rites by Panguitch American Legion Post #25.
