LaVell Dean Robinson

LaVell Dean Robinson, 83, of Manti, Utah, passed away on December 22, 2013 in Payson, Utah. Dean was born on May 11, 1930 in Elko, Nevada to LaVell Messenger and Orpha Alger Robinson. He was raised in Fallen, Nevada.
Dean selflessly served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. He married Ardis Bainter Robinson and together raised 8 children. They later divorced. Further in life, Dean met and married Deanna Louise Rawlins on December 15, 1984 and they had many wonderful years together before Deanna passed away on March 26, 2013.
Dean was a kind man who taught his family through love and example. His strength influenced his family in making correct decisions and he was the family historian for over twenty years. His love for his family was centered around his love for God. Nothing was more important to him than his family, and his teachings will be forever remembered and cherished.
Survived by his children; Susan DeAnn (Virgil) Thatcher, Dave (Wendy) Robinson, Dan (Darcie) Robinson, Don (Cindi) Robinson, Tom (Kim) Robinson, Malinda (Russ) Barton, Sharon (Rick) Bassett, Mary (Dave) Fricke. He is also survived by siblings, Paul, Joe and Lynn; 35 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren
Preceded in death by his parents; wife, Deanna; siblings, Reed, Merle, and Linda.
Graveside services will be held Monday, December 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. in the Richmond Cemetery. There will be a local viewing and family gathering on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 6-8:00 p.m. in the Manti Stake Center, 555 East Union.
