Larry Alan Newton, 76, of Manti, passed away on June 23, 2015 in Provo. Larry was born February 11, 1939 in Monrovia CA to Ross Nathan and Grace Leoda Pippenger Newton.

Larry owned and operated his own automotive shop for 30 years. He was a very active individual who loved spending his time outdoors. He enjoyed skiing, scuba diving, white water rafting, kayaking and hiking. He was an avid photographer and member of the San Luis Obispo Camera Club. Larry was a member of the Manti 3 rd Ward where he was active in the scouting program. He loved his boys and was eager to share his love of the outdoors with them. Larry married the love of his life, Carolynn Ann Carlson on June 23, 2001 in Malibu, CA. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple on May 2, 2009. Above all, Larry was a wonderful family man who accepted everyone and loved unconditionally. He was a gentle, kind and loving husband.

Larry is survived by his wife, Carolynn Newton, Manti; Step-children: Shon (Patricia) White, WA; William Whipple, CA; Janet (John) Krieger, NC; Kymberly Boring, OR; Richard Barrett, CA; Cynthia Sherman, CO. Siblings: Ronald (Linda) Newton, CA; Dennis (Erna) Newton, TX; Rocky Soward, CA; Brett Blanchard, CA; Marsha Jones, OK; Charmaine (Manny) Graves, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents and a step-son, Steven Edward Potter.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Manti Stake Center. Friends and family may call prior to services at the church from 10:30-11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Manti City Cemtery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
