LaRee Anderson Hammond, 80, of Fayette, passed away November 6, 2012 in Provo. She was the youngest of 8 children born to John O’Dean and Cora Anderson on June 19, 1932 in Mayfield. She married the love of her life, Lowell Hammond of Fayette, October 11, 1956 in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death November 21, 1983.

LaRee was raised in Mayfield where she learned to enjoy the outdoors, to work hard and dedicate yourself to family; traits she has successfully passed on to her posterity. LaRee was lucky enough to have all four of her sons live close enough for her to keep an eye on, which she did. She started everyday with a trip to the farm to check on things and help out where needed. But her biggest joy in life was visiting and playing with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren who affectionately called her "Granny".

LaRee is survived by sons: Chad (Tracy) Hammond, Fayette; Bart (Sherry) Hammond, Centerfield; Loni (Julie) Hammond, Dover; John (TeriLee) Hammond, Fayette; 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers: Maurice, Linford, Roy, Robbie, Gordon and Edward; and sister, Matilda Jensen.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Fayette Ward Chapel, where friends may call Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Fayette Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
