LaMar "Willie The Clown" Williams

LaMar Williams, 92, of Manti, UT, passed away on July 10, 2018 in Centerfield, UT. He was born June 13, 1926 to Thomas Wilford and Hannah Phebe Jex in Provo, UT.
LaMar was raised in Spanish Fork, UT and graduated with the Class of 1944, from Spanish Fork High School. LaMar served honorably in the US Navy during World War II.
He married his young sweetheart, Dorothy Jarvis on July 27, 1949, in Modesto, California. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles California LDS Temple. Together they raised eight children.
LaMar brought joy to many people while entertaining as Willie the Clown. He performed in parades, fairs, conventions, and parties in Utah and throughout the west. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings. He served in the Boy Scout program and received his Silver Beaver Award. He and Dorothy served a mission at the Bishop’s Storehouse in Manti and served as Temple Ordinance workers in the Manti Utah Temple.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, and their children, Douglas and Illene Williams, Fruit Heights, UT; Stanley and Loriann Williams, Pleasant Grove, UT; Marla and Steven Ward, Manti, UT; Nancy and Arvin Bean, Manti, UT; Thomas Williams, Manti, UT; J. Kirk Williams, Manti, UT; Paul and Jenny Williams, Logan, UT; LeAnn and Jeremy Olsen, Oahu, HI; and a generous posterity of granchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; younger brother, J Ralph and Marguerite Williams, Manti, UT; and sister-in-law, Faye Williams, Washington, UT.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti 5th Ward Chapel (Red Brick Building, 300 South Main). Viewings will be held on Friday, July 13 at the church from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and also prior to services from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Manti City Cemetery with Military Honors.
