LaMar Mills
Richfield, Utah
On March 25, 2025, LaMar Milton Mills graduated from this life and advanced to the next. LaMar was born on June 13, 1937, in Corrine, Utah, to parents Emerson Milton Mills and Florence Ellen Hamaker. He was the fifth of six children. He graduated from Ogden High School and later from Brigham Young University with a degree in Industrial Education. He went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from Utah State University.
LaMar met his future wife, Sondra Rasmussen, on a blind date. After a long-distance courtship, they became engaged about six months later. They were married and sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on May 28, 1962. They have since been models of unity and love for their children.
One of his first jobs was teaching electronics at Pacifica High School in California, where later he worked for IBM. He then worked for the University of Wyoming as a media specialist in Laramie, Wyoming. In August 1978, LaMar moved his young family to Richfield, Utah, where he served as the Media Coordinator for Sevier Valley Tech until his retirement over 25 years later.
As a young man, LaMar served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tahiti. Later in life, he and Sondra served together as institute teachers in Bloomington, Indiana. They also served faithfully in the Manti Temple for five years.
LaMar is now reunited with his parents and all five of his siblings. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sondra, and their loving children: David (Elizabeth), Daniel (Lynnette), Kimberly (Brian) Hooper, Kenneth (Tarali), Richard (Kerri), Kaelynn (Daniel) Packer, Michael (Rachel), and Matthew (Krystal). The greatest pride and joy in his life were his children, 34 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
