LaJune Gunhild Bogh Leishman, 87, passed away March 12, 2015 in Manti. The daughter of Hans Christian Hansen and Nellie May Lyman Bogh, she was born on May 11, 1927 in Mayfield, Utah.
The family lived in Mayfield. LaJune attended Manti High School, Snow College and Utah State Agricultural College where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Arts and Sciences. She became an English teacher and librarian.
LaJune married Lynn Garrett Leishman on November 19, 1954 in the Manti Temple. They have two children, Jim Bogh Leishman and Andrea Leishman Henrie. LaJune and Lynn spent the early years of their marriage in Cedar City, Price and Bountiful. They moved to Richfield, built a home and settled there to raise their family when Lynn was hired by the BLM. LaJune loved reading and always had a book nearby. She loved to write and was often asked to help write programs for different activities. She also loved, and was very proud of her ancestry. The Hole In the Rock expedition was a favorite topic along with the settlement of the San Juan area. She had a quick wit and a fun sense of humor which her children and grandchildren loved. She had a way of making you feel like you were the most important grandchild, child, niece, nephew, cousin or friend. LaJune loved her siblings. She and Amy were especially close and loved spending time with each other on adventures and weekend trips around Utah. The Bogh Family reunion was always their favorite. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and always had a spot saved with her back-bench friends whom she loved. She served in many capacities throughout her life. She had a love for music and learning and always had a positive outlook on life. She is survived by her children: Jim Leishman and Andrea (George) Henrie; grandchildren: Jamie Lynn Leishman, Shelby and Shayna Leishman, Garrett (Ainzley) Henrie, Jayden Henrie, Sara June Henrie and Sydnee Ann Henrie; sister, Amy.
LaJune was preceded in death by her parents, husband and siblings: Nellie, Roy, Cleo, Nels, Alice, Clara, Shirley, Marvin, Clark, and their spouses.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Richfield 7 th Ward Chapel, 159 North 400 West. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield and Wednesday at the ward chapel from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
