Lahoma Griffin Dalton, 90, much loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, returned to her Heavenly Father on January 13, 2016 at her home in Circleville.
She was born August 30, 1925, in Escalante, Utah, the 7 th child of Joseph Andrew "Jody" and Rebecca Roundy Griffin. She graduated from Escalante High School. She married her eternal companion, Stan Dalton, December 10, 1946 in the Manti Temple.
Lahoma was accomplished in many things. As a member of the Allen Orchestra, she sang and played drums. She played the piano by ear. Her home was the focus of her life. As you enter you are met with many displays of family photos. She loved scrapbooking, quilting and crocheting beautiful afgans for her family. She was an excellent cook, though she would never admit it and was known for her famous pies and desserts. She also worked side by side with her sweetheart at Stan’s Merc in Circleville, they owned for 30 years.
She was an active member of the LDS Church, serving in many callings including Sunday School, Primary teacher and was secretary in the Relief Society. Her positive influence enriched many lives. She was kind, sweet and loving to all she met and will be greatly missed and always loved by her family and friends.
Lahoma is survived by her husband, Stan; children: Kay (Glenda), Robert (Susan), Norlen (Mindy), Doniece (Larry) Bergren, LaRaine (Merril) Davis, Kevin (Stacy); son-in-law, Charles (Maggie) Fox; 34 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; sisters: LaRae (Marion) Allen, Yukon Norman.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Diana Fox; grandsons: C ory Dalton, Wendal Fox, Travis and Trever Bergren; granddaughters: Holli and Heidi Bergren; siblings: Beaumont (Verda) Griffin; Othello (Artoise) Griffin, Allene (Marion) Jepsen, LaVerne (Sterling) Brindley; brother-in-law, John Norman.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Circleville 1 st LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call on Wednesday from 10:30 to 12:30. Burial will be in the Circleville Cemetery. Funeral directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the LDS Humanitarian Fund.
