Kyle Forbush

Monroe, Utah

Kyle LaVor Forbush, 88, passed away peacefully in his daughter’s home in South Jordan, surrounded by family on Sunday, October 16, 2016. He was born on April 12, 1928 in Monroe to Guy LaVor and Lavon Marble Forbush.

Kyle graduated from Richfield High School. He later served in the army during the Korean war. Working alongside his father, he was an auto mechanic for over 40 years and worked in the Ford garage in Richfield, Utah.

Kyle married Barbara Jean Nelson on July 26, 1955 in the Manti Temple. She preceded him in death in June 1996.

A faithful member of the LDS Church, Kyle loved the gospel. He held many church callings and was a High Priest. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and especially animals. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, big brother, uncle and friend. Everything he did, he did well, whether raising children, working as a mechanic, or living the gospel. He lived a very Christ-like life setting an example for his family and all who knew him. He was our gentle giant, quiet, wise and strong. He will be deeply missed.

Kyle is survived by his son, Rodney (Tina) Forbush; daughter, Gina (Greg) Powell; grandchildren: Taylor Forbush, Jason Forbush, Kylee Forbush, Cherie (Adam) Oliver, Caleb Powell; great-grandchildren: Danielle and Talia Oliver; sisters: Marjorie Burr and Carol (Dean) Lowe.

He was also preceded in death by parents; sister, Elva (Norris) Jensen; and brothers-in-law: Boyd Egbert and Bruce Burr.

Our family would like extend a heartfelt thanks to Intermountain Homecare and Hospice, especially Suzie, Bonnie, Shontay and Juanita. Your loving concern and care for Papa will always be remembered and appreciated.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Monroe Stake Center, 140 S Main, where friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Monroe City Cemetery with military rites by the Monroe American Legion Post #31 and Utah Honor Guard.
