Kurt Jensen, 55, of Murray, formerly of Ephraim, passed away on July 16, 2013. Kurt was born on August 29, 1957 in Mt. Pleasant, UT to Jay Harold Jensen and Connie Lue Shepherd.
Kurt graduated from Manti High School in 1975 and married Kathryn Voorhees of Manti. He attended UVSC where he studied technology management and later went on to the work in the technology industry.
He loved the mountains, gardening, and photography. He excelled at UVSC in his study of technology management and was a lifelong learner and teacher. Spending time outdoors with friends and family and cruising on his motorcycles were just a few of the ways he spent his time. A lifelong audiophile, Kurt had a love for music and playing drums. He kept a song in his heart and had the latest sound gear to enjoy it.
His roots in the outdoors ran deep in the mountains of Ephraim Canyon, where he spent time with friends and family through the years. Kurt had an especially soft spot in his heart for his three children and grandchildren. Through his own unique form of sarcasm, Kurt made us all laugh in even difficult situations.
He is survived by his former wife, Kathryn V. Zabriskie; daughter, Jennifer (Colby) Atkinson; son, Matthew K. Jensen; daughter, Kristen Jensen and four grandchildren; mother, Connie Jensen; siblings, David (Janet) Jensen; James (Carolyn) Jensen; Judy (Gene) Wheeler; Penny (Len) McInelly; Janette (Allen) Lyman. He was preceded in death by his father Jay H. Jensen and siblings, Jacqueline Jensen and Jed Marlin Jensen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 12 p.m. in the Ephraim First Ward chapel, 420 N. 200 W., Ephraim, UT. Friends may call prior to services from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Ephraim Park Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
