Kirk Weston Anderson, 90, passed away February 29, 2016 at his home in Redmond surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 22, 1925 in Redmond to Oluf Christian and Ferneth Sophia Nelson Anderson. He married Laura Fay Johnson, October 27, 1944 in Salt Lake. The marriage was solemnized March 19, 1963 in the Manti Temple. She preceded him in death April 22, 2010.
He worked 40 years for Georgia Pacific as a mechanic. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, and horse-back riding. Family always came first with Dad.
He is survived by children: Janice Mickelsen, Redmond; Don Anderson, Redmond; daughter-in-law, Debbie Anderson, St. George; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Miles (Donna) Anderson, Redmond.
Also preceded in death by parents; sons: Lynn Kirk Anderson and an infant son; son-in-law Steven Mickelsen; siblings: Dee May Anderson, Kennard (Glade) Anderson; in-laws: Allen Johnson, Marie (Odell) Jensen, Lucille (Niel) Buchanan, Bert (Jerry) Johnson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 12:00 Noon in the Redmond Ward Chapel where friends may call from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Redmond City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
