Kent "Wag" Syddall

After a long hard fought battle with cancer, Allen Kent "Wag: Syddall, 67, passed away at his home on December 22, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. Kent was born on April 10, 1945 in Richfield, to Lottie Barney and Allen June Syddall. Kent married Camille Penney on June 15, 1963 in Richfield.
Kent enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, camping, hunting, fishing, and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was also known for his famous Dutch oven dinners. His true passion was when he was riding horses on the mountain and out on the desert. Kent owned and operated Syddall Floorcoverings for the past 27 years with his wife Camille and sons. Kent was also a member of the Elk’s Lodge and was chosen as Elk of The Year for his many contributions to the Elk’s activities. His greatest enjoyment was taking everybody’s money in the "Canvas Casino", and we will all miss his stories around the campfire.
Kent is survived by his wife, Camille; daughter, Shelly (Gale) Kesler; sons, Brad (Angie) Syddall and Jeff Syddall. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren with 1 more on the way. Sisters, Karen (Thurl) Mason, Aurora; Beverly (John) White, Richfield; Vickie (Wayne) Meier, West Valley; mother-in-law, Beverly Penney, Richfield. Kent was preceded in death by his father, Allen June Syddall; mother, Lottie Barney Morrill; step father, Denzil Bud Morrill; and father-in-law, John D. Penney.
Kent's family would like to express their heart felt gratitude for all the efforts of Dr. Steven Wallantine, the staff at the Central Utah Clinic and the Intermountain Home Care Hospice team.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, December28, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary, 50 South 100 West. Friends may call at the Mortuary on Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. and prior to services on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Richfield City Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
