Kent Earl Sorensen

Mayfield Utah

Kent Earl Sorensen, 63, passed away August 10, 2014 on his farm in Mayfield. He was born December 24, 1950, in Gunnison to Neil H. and Mary Louise Munk Sorensen. He served an LDS mission in South Africa.

Kent married Denice Smith, August 30, 1974 in the Salt Lake Temple. They have 6 children. Kent graduated from Gunnison High School and Snow College. He also attended Utah State University. He helped build White Sage Dairy and Farm with his dad and brothers. He worked hard as a farmer and dairyman for his entire life.

Kent was always serving others. He was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holding numerous callings over the years including Elder's Quorum President, High Priest Group Leader, Executive Secretary, Ward Mission Leader and as a dedicated ordinance worker at the Manti Temple. He loved serving in the temple and the interactions he had with the people there. He was also active in the Mayfield Lions Club and Young Farmers.

Kent enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He especially liked fishing at Lake Powell. The time he spent with his family was his favorite. He was always planning the next trip to Powell, Hawaii, up the mountains or Sunday dinner. Every trip, no matter where he was, he would always stop and help anyone he saw in need. He passed this great love of service on to his family.
