Kenneth Ray Sponaugle, 69 of Circleville, passed away July 7, 2012, at his home in Circleville from complications of cancer. He was born March 31, 1943 in Belington, West Virginia to Raymond and Louise Bennette Sponaugle. He married Regina Louise Burlingame, December 1, 1962 in Massachusetts.
Ken served in the Navy during the Viet Nam War, he was also a Navy recruiter. After his military service he worked in the private sector for hospitals maintaining their power plants.
He loved spending time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing, riding his atv and snow mobile.
He is survived by his wife, Regina of Circleville; children Ken Jr and wife Laura of Smithtown, NY, Tracy Ann Ferguson and Anthony F. Sponaugle, both of Circleville; granddaughters, Angela, Veronica, Nicole; siblings, Eldon and Eileen Sponaugle of Boston, MA, Sue Ellen and Tim Farley of Laurelville, OH and Terry and Phyllis Sponaugle of Parson, WV.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Clifton and sister, Judith.
At his request, cremation services have taken place. Burial at sea will occur at a later time.
Where no formal services will be taking place locally, the family suggests that contributions be made in Ken's name to the American Cancer Society.
