Kendall Bartholomew
Mayfield, Utah
Kendall Bartholomew, 63 of Mayfield passed away in his home on January 15, 2023. He was born in the Gunnison Valley on April 22, 1959 to Shirley and Merlene Chapman Bartholomew. He was the youngest of 4 children. Kendall married Catherine Lee Jensen in the Manti Temple on February 3, 1979. Together they have two children and 5 grandchildren. Kendall loved his family and loved being a grandpa.
He grew up in Mayfield and attended Gunnison Valley High School where he loved playing basketball and playing music with his band, Rosie and the Four Petals. His love for music continued throughout his life as he shared that love with his family and they would often play music together.
Kendall worked at Deer Creek Coal Mine in Huntington for 22 years where he received his electricians license and following this, he transferred to Sufco Coal Mine in Salina for another 14 years.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved serving in the bishopric in the young single adults’ ward and serving as the choir director at the Central Utah Correctional Facility. Some of his favorite hobbies included playing music with his family, nightly card games with wife, and the many special getaways and adventures that they took together. He loved spending time in the mountains and enjoyed taking trips with his wife on his Harley. He loved to support his grandchildren, cheering them on in their many activities. Kendall always had such a great sense of humor and was always able to make his family laugh. He had such a big heart and was always looking to serve others. He was always watching over his family and we know that he will continue to do so.
Kendall is survived by his wife, Catherine; daughter, Ronda (Kade), and their children: Jayda, Oakland, and Halston; son, Kris and his children: Keprie and Griffin; brothers: Eugene (Sheila), Bruce (Arlene); sister, Sherry (Steve).
