Keith R. Nelson, 68, our beloved dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, brother, uncle, friend, passed away Friday, March 30, 2012 in Provo. Cancer came on hard and fast but Keith kept his sense of humor and wit through it all.
Keith was born July 19, 1943 in Joseph to Grace and Ralph Nelson. He graduated from South Sevier High School and carried his school pride throughout his life. He went on to study drafting in Denver and enjoyed a long drafting career as well as owning a few businesses.
Keith married Glenna Smith in 1961 and had one daughter before they divorced in 1972. He then married Kathy Titus and they were married for 11 years.
Keith spent his career in the San Francisco Bay area and loved it there. He was a devoted fan of the Oakland Raiders and Oakland A’s. However, when it came time to think about retiring he wanted to be home in Sevier County and close to family. He moved back in 2004 and provided loving care for his mother until she left this earthly life. He loved his family and enjoyed every minute with his daughter, grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Keith adored his mother, his sister and two brothers. Golfing with his sister and brothers was his favorite activity. After retiring and moving home, he worked part-time at the Cove View Golf Course in Richfield and loved the people he worked and golfed with there.
Keith is survived by his daughter, Thauna Kazakevicius, Centerville; grandchildren, Amanda, Bethany and Daniel and great-granddaughter JaNiyah; sister, Lorraine (Dane) Gregerson; and brothers, Terry (Patricia) Nelson and Bart (Melissa) Lee, all Monroe.
Preceded in death by his parents: Ralph B. Nelson and Grace Mills Nelson (Clark) Lee.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. in the Joseph Cemetery.
