Our loving father, husband, grandfather and brother, Karl Marsden Holder, 65, passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2013 in Gunnison. Karl was born February 19, 1948 in Murray to Louis and Marjorie Marsden Holder. He married Diane Clegg August 12, 1967. Together they had three children. Later divorced.
He married Elaine Bailey, May 13, 2000 in Centerfield. They built their home in Centerfield. Karl took great pride in the log home having stacked every log from the ground up and doing much of the construction work. He enjoyed working on his small farm, raising the finest grass fed beef.
Karl served his country during the Vietnam war with the 101st Airborne Division, receiving the Bronze Star medal and the Army Commendation medal. He also served with the 145th National Guard Until. He retired from the Sanpete County Road Department after 20 years.
Karl is survived by his wife, Elaine, of Centerfield; children: Keith (Maria) Holder, Centerfield; Karla (Daniel) Jessop, Lehi; Kelly (Samantha) Holder, Ephraim; 12 grandchildren; siblings: Clyde Holder, Rueleen (David) Maxfield, Louise (Alan)Webb, Ray (June) Holder, Dale (Beckie) Holder, Janet (Bruce) Hone.
Preceded in death by parents.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in the Centerfield 1st Ward Chapel where friend may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Mayfield Cemetery with military rites by the Centerfield American Legion Post #25.
