Karen Elvira Olson Christiansen, 82, passed away May 4, 2015 in Manassas, VA. She was born August 1, 1932 in Centralia, WA to Ernest E. and Alice Huntting Olson. She married Von O. Christiansen September 12, 1961 in Seattle, WA.
Karen was a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy serving from 1954-1961, during the Korean Conflict.
Karen was an amazing gardener and also enjoyed music, reading, cooking and travel. She held a Masters Degree in Library Science.
Karen is survived by her husband; children: Eric J Christiansen, Kirsten (James) Shehee; grandchildren: Jimmy and Melinda.
Preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation services have been held. Memorial graveside services are pending for Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 12:00 Noon in the Manti City Cemetery with military rites by the Manti American Legion Post #31 and the Navy Honor Guard. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
