Karel Edwin Sylvanus, 88, passed away May 5, 2017 in Richfield, Utah. He was born May 11, 1928, on a dairy ranch in Limon, Colorado to Jesse and Nettie Jacque Sylvanus. He married Norene Jean Sauceman, December 8, 1945, she preceded him in death 2008.
He baptized at the age of 25 and devoted his life to the ministry and serving the Lord with the Home Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. He has assisted with congregations in New Mexico, Nevada, California, Arizona and Colorado. Because of health concerns, he recently moved to Marysvale to be with his daughter and her husband.
Surviving him is his daughter, Kathleen Roark (Phillip Braden); grandson, Robert North; brother, Kenneth Sylvanus.
Also preceding him is a son, Weston Sylvanus.
Cremation services have taken place. No public services are planed for this time.
Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples;
baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit,
and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.
