June Sharon Cowley, 88, passed away at his home in Venice surrounded by his loving family. He was born June 8, 1929 in Venice to Charles William Jr and Leah Matilda Gardner Cowley. He married Margaret Forbush, the love of his life on September 2, 1950 in Venice. The marriage was solemnized January 9, 1951 in the Manti Utah Temple.
He graduated from Richfield High School. He worked for Mt. Bell and served honorably in the Korean War. After his military service, he returned to the phone company retiring after 35 years. He also worked as a custodian for the LDS Church in the Richfield area for many years. He and his wife served an LDS mission at Cove Fort and were ordinance workers in the Manti Temple.
He loved caring for his yard and was particular in how it was kept. He enjoyed woodworking and fishing. He was a loving family man. He lived a life of service to others.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret of Venice; children: Jeannie Dickinson and Joyce (Allen) Owens, both of Las Vegas, NV, Blain (Cheryl Lynn) of Vancouver, WA, Jan (Richard) Brimhall of Provo, Tracy J. (Kerin) of Midway, Paul K (Kerry) of Sandy, David W. (Rama) of Lehi; 31 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; siblings: Phil, Dean, Julian (Deanna), Lee Anna (Jerry) Jensen; sisters-in-law: Phyllis, Julianne. Preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Richard, Charles (Celia), Robert (Bonnie), Tony; sisters-in-law: Pat and Sally; grandsons, Bryce Cowley, Cade Brimhall; great-granddaughter, Olive Severinsen
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Venice LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 or at the ward chapel in Venice on Monday from 9:30 to 10:30. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery with Military Honors by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard.
