Dezra June Leavitt Christensen of Venice, Utah, 89, passed away on July 15, 2016 at her home in Venice. June was born May 10, 1927 in Joseph, Utah to Lloyd Leland and Fawn Mahala Sylvester Leavitt. After her mother died in 1932, June lived with several relatives in Joseph, Salt Lake City, Draper, Elsinore, and Annabella.

June married Thomas Randall Christensen on November 18, 1946 in the Manti LDS Temple and began her 70 year residence in Venice. Tom preceded June in death on July 17, 2005.

June raised her six children, mastered homemaking and handiwork skills, was an artist, an avid reader, and helped Tom with the farm. She supported her husband during his time in the Utah State House of Representatives, traveled many places, and enjoyed her numerous posterity. She worked at Beehive Clothing, was an active member of the LDS Church, serving faithfully everywhere she was asked. She and Tom served as temple ordinance workers and she also served 36 years in the Richfield Family History Center.

June is survived by her children: Randall Lloyd (Sue) Christensen, Richfield; Thomas Roy (Bess) Christensen, Annabella and currently serving an LDS mission in New Zealand; Jack Ray (Anne) Christensen, Sandy; Janese Christensen, Provo; Roxanne (Michael) Staheli, Enoch; and Jonathan Dale (Christine) Christensen, Bountiful; many grandchildren & lots of great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; sister, Beverly Jane Beck, Centerfield; brother, James Wilford Leavitt, Annabella.

June was also preceded in death by her parents; 2 grandchildren; siblings: Marga Bell, Vivian Aleith, Harold Lloyd and Portia.

Funeral services will be held on Friday July 22, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Venice Ward Chapel. Friends may call Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield and Friday at the ward chapel in Venice from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
