Julie Nixon
Sevier, Utah
With profound sadness we announce the passing of Julie Ann Wheeler Nixon, "Jewels", our loving and devoted mother, best grandma of any child even if not her own and friend to all whose lives she touched on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 2020 in Sevier Utah, from Gardner’s syndrome with complications from Ampullary Carcinoma. Barry Penrod, her soulmate, was right there to be with her for the final moments.
Julie was born June 14, 1959 in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Glen Elmer Wheeler and Linda Joy Dame. She grew up in Lehi, Utah and attended Lehi High School, graduating in 1977.
She married Daniel Jay Nixon on the 23rd of June in 1984 and had 4 beautiful children: Danielle (Jeremy) Fisher, Danyca (Ken) Russell, Bobby Nixon (Nikki Brown) and Jasey Nixon.
Mom ran the Grandma’s Sycamores Bakery (Granny Bread) in Pleasant Grove for 14 years as the main manager. Everyone in Pleasant Grove knew who mom was! She loved that job.
She moved on with the man of her dreams Barry Penrod in 2002.She embraced his 4 wonderful children: Deena (Dallen) Kinsey, Stan (Michael Ann) Penrod, Amber (Aaron) Walsh and Brodie Penrod.
Mom was involved in Daughters of Utah Pioneers. She loved to crochet and was an avid animal lover. She had a farm with sheep, mules, chickens and a million cats! She was always up for an adventure! She was such a wonderful mother, grandma and friend to everyone. She was everyone’s best friend such as Wendy and Debi plus so many more. I can’t mention everyone.
She is survived by her soulmate Barry Penrod; children: Danielle (Jeremy) Fisher, Danyca (Ken) Russell, Bobby Nixon (Nikki Brown) and Jasey Nixon; siblings: Robert (Colette)Wheeler, Melanie (Bret) Hirschi, Kenneth (Mitzi) Wheeler and Jan (Steve) Blanke (Steve). She had 21 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild— She was honestly the best grandma we have ever seen! Mom is preceded in death by her parents; son, Jasey Nixon; sisters: Christy Cannon, Beckie Wooster.
A special thanks to Dr. Mark Lewis and his wonderful staff out of Murray for their very compassionate and loving care they gave Mom and to the great hospice team. Thank you for your wonderful care at the end! If you feel the need to donate, please do so to any Cancer foundation. Let’s beat Cancer!
Mom requested to only have a wake. Due to Covid 19 and winter we will be having the wake in the spring. We will keep everyone informed.
