Julia May Brown Steiger, 88, passed away December 15, 2015 in Richfield, Utah while visiting with family during the holidays. She was born April 3, 1927 in La Harpe, Illinois to George Clarence and Janette Evelyn Parker Brown. Julia married Robert Henry Steiger, they later divorced.
Julia was born in Illinois, but the family moved around and finally settled in San Diego County. She loved to travel all over the country to visit and re-acquaint with family - driving until her eye sight limited travel, then she figured out how to go by bus or plane. If she didn’t answer her phone, she was probably on the bus to or from Laughlin or Vegas.
She was very family oriented...if anyone in the family was expecting a baby - she was there, if there was any type of event - she was there.
Survivors include her children: Rose (Dennis) Tucker; Robert (Melody) Steiger and George (Susan) Steiger; 10 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by a daughter, Judy (Kenneth) Ashe; 2 grandchildren; 2 brothers and 1 sister.
Cremation has taken place and the family is planning a Celebration of Julia’s Life in the spring in Ramona, California. Date and time will be released to family members at a later date. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
