Joseph Richard Littke, 81, passed away September 26, 2016 in Richfield. He was born May 18, 1935 in Salt Lake City to Joseph Charles and Caroline Elise Linnebach. He married Mary Joy Justesen, September 3, 1963 in the Manti Temple
Richard served his country in the Army. He served an LDS mission in Germany.
He received a masters in social work from the University of Utah where he was also in Delta Phi. He was an excellent Gospel Doctrine instructor. He loved words, especially puns. He also loved music and was a great salesman. Of his hobbies, Richard enjoyed baking and sharing his bounty.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Joy of Monroe; children: Kari (Donald) Nay, Spanish Fork; Darren Littke, Manti; Brett (Carolina) Littke, Provo; Erica Littke, Knoxville, TN; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn (Richard) Shorten, Salt Lake City; sister-in-law, Lael Littke, Pasadena, CA
He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings: George Littke and Janice Poole.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe 3rd LDS Ward Chapel, 159 South Main. Viewing from 9 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services. Burial with military honors at 3:30 p.m. in the Spring City Cemetery.
