Joseph C. Breinholt
Ephraim, Utah
Joseph Christian Breinholt, 80, passed away peacefully October 14, 2019 at his home in Ephraim, Utah. Dad lived valiantly with Parkinson’s disease for over 15 years. He was born January 6, 1939 in Salina, Utah to Jed and Genevieve Lyman Breinholt. He married Sandra Paulsen, for time and all eternity, in the Manti LDS Temple on February 11, 1960.
Dad was a man of many talents. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator, leveling land and digging basements for homes and other construction projects in the Sanpete Valley area. He remodeled the pioneer home where he and Mom raised their five children. He could do much of the work himself, from laying a cement foundation to putting on the shingles. He was also proficient in repairing almost anything from cars to electronics.
Dad also enjoyed the many associations he had while working at the Snow College LDS Institute, Sperry Univac electronics plant and Maple Leaf Industries in Ephraim. Aside from his family, he was most proud of his lifelong service in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in various callings. Dad retired from the Utah Army National Guard, 1457 Co D Combat engineers in Mt Pleasant, and as a volunteer with the non-profit Ephraim Irrigation Company and as a fair and compassionate judge for the Utah Sixth Judicial District, Sanpete County, Utah, Ephraim Justice Court, from 2000-2010.
He is survived by his wife Sandra; their five children: Jed (Karen), Mt. Pleasant; Jeffrey, Ephraim; Michael (Sally), West Valley City; Gerald (Jennifer), Papillion, NE; Janel Huff, Ephraim; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; siblings: James Jorgensen Jr. and Kathy Clark. He is preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Jason Huff.
