After a long illness, John Earl Wilson passed away at the age of 83 on November 14, 2018 at his home in Richfield, Utah. He was born October 26, 1935 in Richfield to Leland J and Berta Cleo Gibbs Wilson.

He retired after 35 years of service with the federal government as a civil engineer. He and his wife recently moved to Richfield from Crescent City, California. John never knew a stranger. He was outgoing and friendly. Being active in the community was very important to him.

He is the past chairman of the Del Norte County Juvenile Justice Commission. Past Exalted Ruler of BPOE#1689. Chairman of the Del Norte County Grand Jury and a member of the Del Norte County Youth Football Association.

John leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Louise Wilson; children: Philicia (Steve) Marshall, Central Valley, UT; Philena (Rocky) Barney, Richfield, UT; David (Cheryl) Ralston, St. Maries, ID; Jason (Mariea) Ralston, Salt Lake City, UT; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lee Walker, Magna, UT; and brother, Duane Wilson Richfield.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Gary Wilson, Don Wilson; sisters: Beverly Wilson, Donna "Sally" Wilson.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 12:00 Noon in the Richfield City Cemetery, Richfield, Utah with military honors by the V.F.W. Sevier Post #5050 and the Utah Honor Guard. Additional memorial services will be held in December in Crescent City, California, time and place will be announced.
