John Russell, 84 of Manti, UT passed away on January 24, 2017. The husband of Karen Russell of Manti, UT.
John was the father of Keith Russell (Sherri), Christine Totten (Gary), Diana Taylor (Mel), John Russell (Shannon), Mark Russell (Kelly), Nicole Hadley, and Laura Johansen (Kyle). He was the grandfather of Morgan Bradley (Tyson), Pierce Russell, Nicolas Totten (Rebecca), Peter Totten (Kelley), Anne Totten, Alex Moreau, Andrew Moreau (Kelsey), Brian Moreau, Austin Moreau, Alec Russell (Lydia), Adam Russell, Caleb Russell (Paige), Ashlee Russell, Ethan Russell, Jacob Russell, Joshua Russell, Taylor Russell, Sarah Russell, Jared Russell, Elizabeth Russell, Kyle Cole, Zachary Cole (Katelynn), Tayler Hadley, Tori Hadley, Kyra Johansen, Myli Johansen, Spencer Johansen, and Sydnee Johansen. He was the great grandfather of Kate Bradley.
Although he was an accomplished geologist, oceanographer, entrepreneur, and musician, he was most proud of his family.
Hobbies included: Music, chess, philosophy, reading, hunting/fishing, and heated discussions (debate).
Viewing and Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017 starting at 11:00 a.m. in the Manti Tabernacle. Burial will be in the Manti City Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. with military honors by the Manti American Legion Post #31. Funeral directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti
