John Burke Anderson, 73, passed away peacefully, but unexpectedly, on November 27, 2014, on his sailboat in Newport Beach, California, where he loved to be with his son and dog, Bullseye. John enjoyed his airplanes, boats and cars and hunting and fishing. John was born on February 21, 1941, in Richfield, Utah to Oscar and Quma Larsen Anderson.
The family moved to Salt Lake City while John was young. He attended school in Newport Beach when he lived with his older sister, and graduated East High School. He attended the University of Utah, graduating with honors and later earned his law degree from the University of Utah College of Law. John practiced law under his firm Anderson & Holland until he semi-retired in 2002.
He is survived by his son, John Patrick Anderson; Johnny’s mother, Jennifer Sorenson-Anderson; brother, Sherman "O" (Marlene) Anderson; sister, Sally (Ted) Whiting; and many nieces and nephews and dear friends who love him very much.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carroll Benson; nephew, Bill Benson.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2014, at 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the Red Butte Gardens, "Orangerie" Auditorium, 300 Wakara Way, Salt Lake City, Utah. Memorial services and interment will be on Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Magleby Mortuary, 50 South 100 West, Richfield. Burial will be in the Richfield Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
