JoAnn Christensen Hansen, 88, passed away March 24, 2024 in Midvale. She was born April 2,1935 in Richfield to Delbert and Neola Peterson Christensen. JoAnn was the fifth of twelve children. She married Gene “Pete” Hansen on August 16, 1950 and together they had 4 children: Ann, Larry, Cathy, and Jamie. Pete preceded her in death on January 10, 2009.
JoAnn married very young and after welcoming 3 children she returned to school and received her diploma from Richfield High School. They moved to Tuscarora, Nevada for a year while Pete worked on a ranch there. They then made the move to Salt Lake City where they resided and raised their children. JoAnn worked many years at Grand Central. When the youngest, Jamie, came along she stayed at home and devoted her life and her love to care for him until his death at age 49.
She loved having her family come to visit and always made room for everyone. Her and Pete, along with Jamie, had many years of camping, fishing, and sightseeing trips as they loved getting away from the city and enjoying time with family. They even took a road trip to Old Mexico in their truck and camper which was quite an adventure for them. She was dearly loved by many and will be greatly missed.
