Joan Nielsen Draper, 75, of Centerfield, passed away January 15, 2015 in Provo, Utah. She was born July 31, 1939 in West Jordan to Joseph J. and Verbena Lovendahl Nielsen. She married the love of her life, Dell Ray Draper, July 25, 1958 in Salt Lake City. The marriage was later solemnized in the Manti Temple.
Joan had an unconditional love for her husband, children and grandchildren. She spent most of her life raising her kids. She was a member of The Church of Jesus of Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully where ever she was called. She, along with her husband, was the Compassionate Service leader in her ward for many years, where they supervised many funeral luncheons. She enjoyed camping with her family and staying in her "camper house".
She is survived by her loving husband, Dell; children, Michael Ray (Patrica) Draper, Kelly Lynn Draper and Shirlee Joan Miller; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Wayne (Susan) Nielsen; Sharon Ratcliffe, Linda Wright, Shawna Freston.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Denis Nielsen; grandson, Brett Ostler.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Centerfield Cemetery. Friends may call at the Centerfield 1 st Ward Chapel, 210 South Main, Centerfield, UT 84622, on Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
