Joan Lundgreen Christensen
February 27, 1929 — February 13, 2012
Joan "Liz" Morrison Lundgreen Christensen, 82, passed away February 13, 2012 at her home in Monroe, surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 27, 1929 in Richfield to James Bruce and Roxanna McGilvra Morrison. She married Merrill Don Lundgreen in 1947 in the Manti Temple. They were blessed with 7 children. He preceded her in death in 1972.
She later re-united and married her high school sweetheart Heaber H. Christensen in 1974. They enjoyed traveling, dancing, fishing & hunting together. Joan enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family and friends.
Joan is survived by her husband, Heaber; children, Richard (Cori) Lundgreen of Hurricane, Brent (Joy) Lundgreen of Monroe, Leslie (Gail) Lundgreen of Fruita, CO., Merrilee (James) Payne of Monroe, Dana Max (Loney) Lundgreen of Monroe, Cynthia Jensen of Henderson, NV, Suzanne (Niel) Porter of Aurora, CO; 29 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ruth (Hal) Peterson of Monroe; brother-in-law, Jay Christensen of Spanish Fork. She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.
Heartfelt thanks to Always Homecare and Hospice. With an extra special thanks to Doreen Nielson and Jamilee Sorensen (a granddaughter) who honored mom's wishes to be able to stay in her home.
Funeral Services will be held Sat. Feb. 18, 2012, 11 am at the Monroe 4th Ward LDS Church. Friends may call Fri. Feb. 17, 2012 from 6-8 at Magleby Mortuary and on Sat at the 4th ward Church in Monroe from 9:30-10:30. Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery.
