Jim Peters Haws, 89, passed away October 4, 2016 in Richfield. He was born August 17, 1927 in Boulder, Utah to Henry Jason and Maud Elsie Petersen Haws. He married Allene Osborn, July 13, 1947 in Las Vegas. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple.
Jim was a member of the LDS Church. He loved wood working, hunting and fishing and spending time with family and friends. He played the banjo in different bands, but his favorite was the Poverty Bench Boys.
Jim is survived by his wife, Allene; children: Jimmie (Cheryl) Haws, West Valley City; Kim (Bill) Dean, Rockland, ID; Kerlyn J Haws, Torrey; Jason R. Haws, Torrey; 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers and 5 sisters.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the Torrey Ward Chapel, 89 East Main, where friends may call from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be held in the Torrey Cemetery with military rites by the Harold Brown American Legion Post #92. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
