Jerry "Arky" Flanigan

Jerry W. Flanigan, 71, left this world on August 13, 2018 to be with his beloved wife for her birthday on August 14th. Jerry was born on May 12, 1947 in Blytheville, AR to James and Betty Jo Burns Flanigan. Leaving school and family early to start his life, he joined the Navy for a short time, but left from a medical honorable discharge.

He met Diana Jo Bodtcher and fell in love. They were married on November 16, 1968 in Santa Barbara, CA. They had five children, but twin boys and a girl died at birth. He loved his wife and children more than anything. Moving from place to place to find the best place to make a living for his family. In Phoenix AZ, he teamed up with his partner in crime, Gerald White, best friend and business partner, building a million dollar company. Leaving the lap of luxury for a more simple life of fishing and slower pace to retire, they moved to Elsinore to be with Diana’s brother and father (now deceased).

Jerry loved to fish. He loved the feel of catching "the Big One".

He was given one grandson, Phillip, by his son, Jerry Flanigan II, and Daughter in Law Jacqueline; and a granddaughter, Brooklyn by his daughter Rana Flanigan, and Son in Law John Sims. He loved his grandchildren so much. He lost the love of his life on May 3, 2014.

Jerry lived a full life. He cheated death so many times, he was a miracle man. Nothing could keep this man from his family.

Special thanks and love goes to Dallin Preston Alexander for being Papa’s best friend and caretaker. Jerry Flanigan will sorely be missed by everyone who knew him.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 20, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at the Elsinore Ward Relief Society Room.
