Jeremy Shawn Olsen, age 31, was tragically taken from this life by a senseless act of violence. He suffered a head injury February 15, 2013 in St. George and passed away, February 16, 2013 in a Las Vegas ICU, surrounded by family and loved ones.

Shawn was born June 21, 1981 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho. He spent the majority of his childhood in Panguitch where he graduated from Panguitch High. He was a state champion wrestler, winning his title in 1998. Shawn was a skilled, avid extreme sports enthusiast. He was a master of dirt bikes, BMX bikes and mountain biking. If it rolled, he could ride it. He loved repelling and snowboarding. At the age of 15 he was sponsored by Duotone Snowboard. He was happiest outdoors, camping at every opportunity he could find.

Shawn was excited about life, always smiling and happy. People were drawn to him and everyone wanted to be his friend - he was a true friend to many. Even at a young age, Shawn realized that true riches in life were not gained through chasing after material objects; that true wealth came through the people you loved and cared about; that you could not put a value on two foot of new powder on one of Brian Head’s ski slopes; that ripping down Dee Dee Holler on a dirt bike was priceless; and having Grandma Vera come after you doing the windmill was worth more than anything money could buy.

Shawn was a thoughtful and caring man, whose last act of generosity was to be an organ donor. Seven people were given the gift of a future because Shawn Olsen lived, and live he did. All who knew and loved Shawn will miss him deeply. His cruel passing leaves a void that nothing will ever be able to fill.

He is survived by his parents, Lisa and Glen Worthen; grandparents, Vera Olsen, Ruby and Orson Worthen; his companion of 8 years, Deseri Sanchez and her children, Anthony, Devon and Gabe; sisters, Haley, Nickie (Emanuel) and their baby Memphis; brothers, Kye (Karlie) and their baby Sienna; Brady (Melodie), Shay, Justin and his children Riley, Kameron and Kennedy, Thad and his children Thadius and Tyler, Travis.

He is preceded in death by grandfather, Hal Olsen; uncles, Pete Olsen, Jeremy Olsen, Orson Dale Worthen.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 1, 2013 in the Panguitch 2 ^nd LDS Ward Chapel, 200 North 400 East, where friends may call on Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch Cemetery. Funeral Directors, Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
