Jennie Vee Ludvigson
Sterling, Utah
Jennie Vee Jensen Ludvigson, 86, passed away from this mortal life peacefully at her home in Sterling with her husband at her side on Friday, September 12, 2014. After a lengthy, courageous and difficult struggle with Parkinsons, she finally won this battle. A loving Father in Heaven released her from her earthly struggles, duties and callings and welcomed her back to a peaceful and happy heavenly home where she will no longer be plagued with this dreadful disease. She will be greatly missed by her earthly loved ones, but greeted and welcomed by those who have gone on before.
Jennie was born of goodly parents, Melvin and Gertrude Johnson Jensen on June 2, 1928 at the home of an aunt in Salt Lake City. Shortly after her birth she and Mama went back to their home in Mayfield where she grew up and lived her younger years. She attended the local schools and graduated from Manti High School in 1946. Jennie was gifted with many talents, such as an expert seamstress, making many articles of clothing and various other creations. She was a splendid homemaker, wife, mother, cook and baker. She enjoyed creating and decorating birthday and wedding cakes, which she did for many others.
On February 8, 1964 she was married and sealed to John Lee Ludvigson in the Manti LDS Temple. They made their home in Sterling and lived there their entire married life, working side by side farming and raising livestock which she greatly loved. Jennie worked at various other jobs including; a sewing machine operator at Pacific Trails Sportswear, Manti Home Supply as a secretary and as a teacher’s aide in the special education department at Manti High School for 15 years. She was loved by the students and still today after many years whenever they meet her somewhere, they always remember her and greet her with a friendly "Hello Mrs. L, how are ya."
Jennie was a faithful, devoted and talented worker in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she served as the Primary president, Relief Society president and various teaching and counselor positions. Her greatest joy came from working with the young people and children.
Jennie is survived by her husband, John of Sterling; daughter, Jennette Alcala, Gunnison; 2 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, Loraine (Keith) Nielsen, Mayfield and Clyde Jensen, Bountiful.
