Our loving son, father, husband, brother, grandfather and friend, Jeffery Prentiss Gleave, 62, passed away on October 19, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer. He was born March 16, 1953 in Richfield, UT to Virgil Prentiss and Karen Thurston Gleave.
Jeff met his wife Lani Rae Sine while attending Snow College. They had three children; Justin, Trevor and Kristen. Lani passed away in 1983 following a car accident. Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George LDS Temple. Jeff married Vicki Porter in the Manti LDS Temple. They later divorced. He married Kimberly Keisel and together had two sons; Graeson and Winston. They later divorced. Jeff then married Zelda Murphy.
Jeff had a brilliant mind and was well educated. He graduated from Southern Utah Univeristy and attended Washburn University of Law, in Topeka, KS, where he graduated with his Juris Doctorate in 2 years.
Jeff’s family meant the world to him. He loved camping and being in the mountains. Pinenut hunting was a special time. Jeff enjoyed all facets of geology and following Spanish Trail signs. He was a voracious reader and teacher to his children.
He is survived by his wife, Zelda; children; Justin (Alicia) Gleave and Trevor Gleave, both of Richfield; Kristen (Charlie) Ogden, Central Valley; Graeson Gleave, Missoula, MT; and Winston (Delainya) Gleave, Monroe; mother; Karen Swindle, Monroe; brothers: Mace (Joni) Gleave, Ephraim; Maury (Kelly) Gleave, Monroe; sister, Kamelle Gleave, Monroe. Jeff is also survived by his grandchildren: Sierra Lani, Augustus, Taylor, Maylie, Bailee, Ryker, Teagan and Kynnadee. He was also preceded in death by his father, Prentiss; and step-father, Roger D Swindle.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Monroe Stake Center. Friends may call on Sunday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Magleby Mortuary and also prior to services at the Stake Center from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Monroe Cemetery.
