Jeannine Clara McComb

Jeannine Clara Henrich Nielsen McComb, 82, of Elsinore, Utah, passed away February 16, 2011, at her home in Elsinore. She was born November 24, 1928, in Tucson, Arizona, to Wallace Carey and Gladys Louise Kurtz Henrich. She married Aaron Jack Nielsen, on April 14, 1947, in Annabella, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on August 31, 1984. She later married Richard McComb on November 26, 1991, in Elsinore, Utah. He also preceded her in death on July 27, 1994.

Jean was in a group called the Moppetts for almost 20 years and active in countless church and civic projects. She had a beautiful alto voice and sang with the stake women’s choir at General Conference. She loved the outdoors and a picnic was a party. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Claridge, AZ; Cheryl (Kdell) Bagley, WY; Valerie (Timothy) Hopper, Elsinore; Jeffrey (Tonja) Nielsen, Elsinore; and Jack (Alison) Nielsen, Sandy; 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, David Dimmick, West Jordan; and Tim Akom Nielsen, WY.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Aaron and Richard; son-in-law, Allen Claridge; great-grandson, Alex Bagley; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 21, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Elsinore LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call at the Magleby Mortuary on Sunday evening form 6 to 8 p.m .and at the ward chapel in Elsinore on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Elsinore Cemetery. Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.

Jean was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 39 years. She was past president and held many other positions. She was also a member of the Elsinore Literary Club and president. Jean was an active member of the LDS church and served as a counselor, President and teacher in the Relief Society; Primary President and teacher; cub scout leader; Gospel Doctrine teacher; Teacher Development Instructor; Young Women’s President. She was also a worker in the Manti Temple for 11 years.
